Valentine: 'Libby should stay single'

The actress's character Libby Kennedy recently split from husband Dan Fitzgerald (Brett Tucker), but will be seen agreeing to a date with show newcomer Doug Harris (Mahesh Jadu) on Australian screens next week.
Despite the twist, Valentine told TV Week that she does not believe Libby is ready to find love yet.
Valentine commented: "I think she's still too hurt. She's been betrayed so many times by men and I just hope she's not about to be betrayed again. I'd also like her to find her feet by herself for a little while first."
Asked whether she has discussed her concerns with the soap's writers, she replied: "Yes, we were talking about it just the other day.
"I was saying, 'Libby's been a victim of other people's bad behaviour for such a long time. If I had the choice, I'd like to see her create her own happiness. I want her to surround herself with things that bring her joy, rather than other people bringing her joy'.
"She could really get back into her career properly and get back that fire and feistiness she used to have. Then, if love comes, it comes."
