Neighbours actor Sam Clark has admitted that he found it "nerve-wracking" to showcase his new single on the soap.

In February, the 22-year-old announced that he had been given the chance to promote forthcoming release 'Send Me A Sign' in character as Ringo Brown.

It is thought that a future episode will see Ringo performing the song as a tribute to his friend Bridget Parker, who died last year.

Speaking to Holy Soap, Clark explained: "They wanted me to sing it live which I was more than happy to do. I did it in one take as it moves so quickly. We shot the scene from start to finish, and I had a page of dialogue beforehand.

"It was the first time many people on set had heard me sing. I don't run around yelling out the fact that I sing, so it was pretty nerve-wracking to play in front of my peers."

Clark confirmed that it was "just [him] and a guitar" when he performed the number at Charlie's Bar in front of a small audience.

He added: "The song has changed quite a bit since then. The intention behind the song is still the same but it's a more commercial version now, for radio and with a full band."
