New romance ahead for 'Neighbours' Kate

Neighbours star Ashleigh Brewer has revealed that her character Kate Ramsay will get a new love interest in the months ahead.

The actress confirmed that fans will soon see the student teacher move on from on-off boyfriend Declan Napier, played by departing cast member Erin Mullally.

Speaking to Holy Soap, Brewer explained: "Declan and Kate are pretty much dead and gone. There's a new relationship in the works that you're about to see, which is really fun and exciting.

"It's a character that's been around already so it's someone the audience already knows."

Brewer added that the man in question could prove a refreshing change for Kate as he will give her the attention she needs.

"She's the person who does all the looking after," the star explained. "She looks after her little sister and now she needs someone who can step in a look after her a bit."

Brewer joined Neighbours last year and her character has been closely linked to Declan throughout her time on the show.
