Woodburne 'gets starstruck on Neighbours'

Neighbours actress Jackie Woodburne has admitted that working alongside her screen husband Alan Fletcher still makes her feel "starstruck".

The pair have been colleagues on the Ramsay Street soap for the past 16 years, portraying fan favourites Susan and Karl Kennedy.

Woodburne told the Daily Star Sunday: "I know it sounds crazy but every time we have to do a scene together I get starstruck. Even after all these years, it still happens. Alan is a fantastic leading man and I feel really lucky to have played his wife for all this time.

"We get on so well. He really is a pleasure to work with and we always have such a laugh on set, which I think is really important."

The star also said that fans can expect a switch back to light-hearted storylines for the Kennedy family in the coming months.

She explained: "There's been a lot of drama for the Kennedys so it's going to be good to have a bit of fun. But as everyone knows, it never stays that way for long. There's always another drama around the corner."
