The actress explained that although Lyn is going through a rough patch, things will slowly start to improve when she stands up for herself.
She told Holy Soap: "She feels completely guilty even though when she hears about the fire she doesn't actually know how it started.
"She was planning to put up the faulty lights but at the last minute changed her mind and hid the lights. She is terrified that someone is going to be hurt."
Andrewartha said that Paul's demands keep "escalating" until Lyn feels like she is trapped.
"He (Paul) is highly emotional because his son Andrew has been hurt and someone is going to pay so he points the finger at Lyn and blackmails her, and she has a lot of trouble getting out of that one," Andrewartha added.
"She feels guilty anyway and is trying her best to meet his demands but the demands escalate as time goes on; one demand met isn't enough, then another, then another. Lyn is nearly having a breakdown and it probably would have been easier to tell the truth in the first place."
However, Andrewartha insisted that her character will eventually "fight back".
She added: "Lyn has a hard road ahead just rebuilding her life. She's now homeless, broke, her daughter is in jail so she really has hit rock bottom. But she's a resilient person and you'll see her fight back, which might upset a few people."
