The Australian drama stalwart recently landed a four-week stint in the role of Lorraine, a Polish cleaner who starts working for Paul Robinson in a forthcoming storyline.
Neighbours chiefs confirmed that most of Bertram's scenes will see her performing alongside Stefan Dennis, who plays Paul, while the character of Lorraine has been described as "less than diplomatic".
Bertram had to perfect a distinct Polish accent to play the part of Lorraine, who hits screens in Australia in September.
Speaking of her latest alter ego, Bertram commented: "She certainly isn't like any of the characters I've played before and the accent was fun."
Bertram launched her career with the role of Olivia Baxter on The Restless Years in the '70s. She later joined Prisoner in the part of Randi Goodlove.
Her other screen credits include appearances in A Country Practice, Blue Heelers, The Flying Doctors, Home and Away, Rush and City Homicide.
