Woodburne, who plays Susan Kennedy, praised the soap's current batch of young actors and characters, and named Sonya (Eve Morey) as her favourite.
"We've got a good crop [of young actors] at the moment," she told Channel 5. "It goes in various stages. Look, they're all a really good bunch.
"I tell you who I think is particularly great - you probably wouldn't categorise her as the kids - but Eve Morey, who plays Sonya, is, I think, one of the best characters we've had come into the show in a long time."
Asked whether she is anything like her character of Susan, Woodburne replied: "Susan is much more reasonable than me! No, she's very wise, and she's a very good person. I'm not like her in terms of problem solving. I need to take a long time to work things through, not like her, who seems to manage to sort things out very quickly."
Woodburne also said that if she could write her own storyline for Susan and Karl (Alan Fletcher), it would involve a haunted house in England.
"It would be that Karl and Susan inherit a haunted castle in England somewhere, and they have to go over to claim it, and they take some kids with them, and one of the kids falls in love with the lord living in the next castle, and there's a ghost, and there's a housekeeper who likes a tipple," she outlined.
"I think that would be a lovely Neighbours storyline. Of course we'd have to come to England to film it, which would be difficult, but we'd manage."
Eve Morey signed a deal to stay with the soap for at least another year in February.
