Neighbours legend Harold Bishop has been immortalised at Australia's Madame Tussauds.

Veteran actor Ian Smith had the waxwork model recently unveiled in Sydney.

Upon the statue being unveiled, Smith quipped to journalists: "I've told my wife Gail when I drop off the perch she can take this home."

Hearty shopkeeper Harold was a main fixture in Ramsay Street between 1987 and 2009, when Smith quit the part.

However, Smith reprised his role in a guest appearance last year.

Bishop has been erected beside Neighbours co-stars Guy Pearce (Mike Young) and Delta Goodrem (Nina Tucker), as well as a plethora of Australian stars including Dame Edna Everage and Rolf Harris.
