Jackie Woodburne talks Karl and Susan

Thanks to our friends at Five, my colleague David Balls managed to catch up with Neighbours legend Jackie Woodburne to chat about her time with the Aussie soap, while also finally clearing up that infamous tattoo rumour! Click here to read the interview in full.

Here, however, I present to you a Susan and Karl-themed blog - with a little bit of Paul Robinson.

Karl didn't seem too impressed by Susan's new working relationship with Paul...
"Paul has got a very shady past and it was a very convenient brain tumour that explained why he was evil. Karl has been the only one who doesn't trust Paul at all. So now that Susan is working so closely with him, that and the fact that he has a reputation with the ladies amps it up a bit. There is a lot of fun with Susan rubbing Karl's nose in it. She does have a bit of that sadistic side which I quite enjoy! But Karl and Paul have a lot of conflict over this storyline."

Do you think Karl and Susan will stay together?
"I think they've just got such a strong connection that is based upon such a good grounding. They're just best friends, they enjoy each other's company more than anyone else's and they share a very deep connection. They're both also terribly flawed people. Susan has forgiven him for all kinds of indiscretions and has moved on so I think they are pretty solid. I hope so at least! I would hate for them to break up again. I don't think Alan [Fletcher] and I could go through that again."

Karl and Susan are still very affectionate as a couple aren't they?
"Oh yes, and we try to keep that notion going that they have a very healthy attraction for each other. We try and get that in as much as we can."
