5549: Nicola wakes from her coma

Libby deals with her hurt at Dan’s previous attempt to fix their relationship, while Dan decides to buy one of Lucas’s photos in order to win her back. Dan realises that he can’t pretend that Libby’s time with Lucas doesn’t bother him. But in a heartfelt speech to Libby, Dan owns his feelings toward her past with Lucas and inadvertently proves his love for her.

Steve wants Miranda to admit that Nicola will still have feelings for him after she recovers and therefore she will still be a problem in their lives. Nicola regains consciousness but when she wakes from her coma she only recognises Miranda and Karl diagnoses amnesia. As the Parkers try to coax back Nicola’s memory Bridget remains the only cynic, although she can find nothing to validate her misgivings. Is Nicola’s amnesia for real?

Callum diverts all mentions of Nicola to Bronte to cover up his fear of hospitals. When Toadie tries to take him to visit Nicola, the extent of Callum’s fear becomes apparent. Toadie’s plan to help Callum by taking Bronte along with them to the hospital backfires when Nicola doesn’t remember her own dog, leaving Callum more traumatised.
