5689: Miranda makes a mistake

After learning the truth about Jill Ramsay, Elle tells Lucas that they have to find her before Paul does. The next day, Lucas and Elle arrive at Jill's but as they're about to walk up to the house, Paul comes charging down the driveway barking orders down the phone to someone. Elle decides to abandon her attempt to talk to Jill in favour of following her father. Later, having lost track of Paul, Elle returns to the newspaper offices where Susan, having overheard the conversation about Jill, presses Elle for details.

Returning to the newspaper, Paul is panicked to discover a blood stain on the cuff of his shirt. When Elle confronts her father about Jill, Susan can't help but listen in to the conversation, fearful that Paul is cheating on Rebecca. Later, Susan speaks to Elle and tells her that she's come a long way with Paul and not to let him drag her back down. Elle once again tries to talk to her dad about going to see Jill, but a flustered Paul tells Elle he's decided that he and Rebecca need to get away for a couple of days.

Miranda and Dean meet for dinner and it isn't long until the sparks from their past are reignited. Following a tender kiss, Dean suggests that they meet up again another night. Despite her better judgement, and knowing that she's planned to meet Steve for breakfast the morning after, Miranda agrees.

An excited Steve prepares for his breakfast with Miranda, but Bridget warns him not to push things too hard. She doesn't want to see Steve get hurt. Later, Miranda prepares for her date with Dean but tells Bridget that she's attending a function at Lassiter's. Arriving at Dean's hotel room, Miranda greets her former flame with a steamy kiss. The next morning, having spent the night with Dean, Miranda arrives home where an upset Steve puts two and two together. While Miranda attempts to apologise, Steve tells her that it's her life before storming out.
