5695: Steve announces he's leaving town

Following Greg's outburst at the pool party, Steph demands to know what his problem is. Greg says that he doesn't like her being so "hands-on" with her friends but Steph insists that it's just how she is and Greg does not get to humiliate her like that - ever. Steph confides in Toadie about Greg's concerns and Toadie says that although Greg was in the wrong, he can see where he's coming from.

Later at Charlie's Bar, Steph is infuriated when Greg goes out of his way to make her jealous. Steph tells Greg that she knows exactly what he's doing to which Greg replies now Steph knows how it feels. Later, the couple exchange heated words and Greg says that although he doesn't want Steph to give up her friends, she should change who she is around them. Steph is having none of it and says that she loves her friends and herself and can't be with someone who doesn't accept that. Given his marching orders, Greg packs his things and leaves Ramsay Street.

Following his handling of the media after Paul was released on bail, Lou is splashed across the front of the West Waratah Star under the headline "Suburban Thug". Initially deciding to try and destroy all the papers in the district, Lou soon changes his mind when he spots some beautiful young girls eyeing him up and decides that maybe it's better to be a local celebrity.

With the store heaving, Lou is revelling in his new-found celebrity status until a woman comes storming in to the store and hits him with a newspaper. When Lou doesn't recognise the woman, she reminds him that he stood her up at a bar in 1989 before hitting him again and storming off.

Bridget arranges to have dinner with both Steve and Miranda later that night, only problem is that they both think that they're having dinner with Bridget alone. Later, the trio meet at Charlie's for dinner and Bridget explains that she couldn't say no to either of them. Miranda invites Steve to stay and have dinner with her and Bridget, an offer he accepts. Miranda apologises for what happened with Dean and tells Steve that she misses him. However, Steve reveals that he's selling the veterinary practice and moving back to Oakie - for good.
