5710: Libby and Dan accept Susan's offer

Libby is astonished at her mother's generous offer to be their surrogate, but politely refuses, saying they'll find some other way. Discussing Susan's proposition with Dan, Libby is unsure of her mother's offer while Dan wonders about what this could mean for Susan's Multiple Sclerosis.

Meanwhile, Susan is upset that her offer to be the surrogate has been turned down and phones her doctor to cancel any further appointments as there's no longer any need. Despite Karl's thinking that this is for the best, there's no hiding Susan's disappointment. Later, after talking things through, Libby and Dan have a change of heart and accept Susan's offer on the condition that they don't proceed if it is going to worsen Susan's MS. However, Karl is less than pleased with the turn of events, given his position on the matter.

The Ramsay kids scatter their mother's ashes over the Lassiter's Lake and Sophie apologises for not being able to stop Jill's accident. Despite Kate's insistence that they're all going to be fine, Harry isn't convinced and the pair soon end up in a squabble, while Sophie shouts at them to stop, before running off. Kate tells Harry that because Sophie witnessed the accident, she needs their support.

Later, Elle visits Kate and offers her her job at Harold's Store back. While Kate is hesitant at first, she later accepts and not a moment too soon for poor Lou who is drowning under a tidal wave of customers. Meanwhile, Harry finds a bottle of Jill's perfume while rummaging through some old belongings and the sweet smell immediately reminds him of his late mother.

Lucas arranges a romantic picnic at Lassiter's Lake for he and Elle, however when Elle learns Lucas consulted Steph about the idea, she's less than impressed. As their intimate picnic progresses, Elle's mood softens and she actually begins to enjoy the romantic gesture.

Later, Steph and Lucas arrange another poker night and Elle decides to participate. In a blatant attempt to assert her relationship with Lucas in front of Steph, Elle drapes herself all over Lucas. However, Lucas's mind is somewhere else and he races off.

At Charlie's, Lucas accepts a bet to play pool against a group of guys and Lucas is pleased with himself when he wins. However, as he goes to leave the bar, Lucas is dragged out a side entrance by the group of guys and vanishes into the night.
