5730: Elle drops a bombshell on Paul

While Libby is being prepared for her egg extraction, Susan tries to get in contact with Paul in order to convince him not to run the article about the protest at the hospital. However, her attempts fail and Paul proceeds with his plans to print the story. Susan breaks the news to Libby and Dan, but they're steadfast in their desire to go ahead with the IVF despite the article being printed.

Later, Elle learns of Paul's plans and pulls the article, instead replacing it with a story on a heroic dog. When Paul finds out, he threatens to pull rank and run the Kennedy story anyway. Elle points out that that'll achieve nothing but hurt the Kennedy family and threatens to quit. Paul isn't convinced his daughter will go through with her decision. Paul tells Elle that he brought the paper so they could be closer, but she tells her father that no matter how hard they try, things will always be this way.

The next day, Susan is relieved to find that the surrogacy story isn't on the front page of the newspaper – in fact, it's not in the paper at all. Meanwhile, Paul is shocked when Elle reveals that she has an interview at the West Waratah Star.

The Kennedy clan are thrilled to learn that there is one viable egg and the IVF process can proceed. Libby thanks Susan because whatever she said to Paul seems to have worked, meanwhile Karl believes it was probably Dan who made it happen.

Steve tells Mickey that he's received a call from Ned and Kirsten and they want Mickey to live with them now Kirsten's better. Mickey is okay with it as long as he can take Jake. Later, Steve admits to Toadie that he doesn't think the move has sunk in yet, while Mickey informs Callum and Sophie that he'll be going to New York with his parents. Mickey admits to Callum that no-one asked him if he wants to leave, it was just decided. They agree to be internet mates before wrestling.

Meanwhile, Sophie and Callum decide to have a bit of fun with their friendship and play it up in front of Toadie and Harry, and Declan is struggling with a restless baby India.
