5742: Elle double-crosses Lucas

At Harold's Store, Steph confides in Lucas about the graffiti painted on her driveway and apologises for dumping her emotional baggage on him. When Lucas takes her hand and tells her that's what mates are for, Elle walks in and the pair quickly separate.

Later, Elle's editor Josh arrives and tells her that he's disappointed in Elle for trying to cover up for Lucas before adding that the Star has obtained a copy of the accident report and there's now no way Elle can protect Lucas. By morning he'll be front page news. When Elle tries to apologise for going behind Josh's back, he demotes her to editor of the letters page until he is no longer mad at her. Meanwhile, Elle is interrupted by comedian Tim Vine as he clumsily sets about looking for Lassiters.

Meanwhile at the garage, Lucas is disheartened to see that every booking has been cancelled in the wake of the Parkers' accident. Later, Elle arrives and while Lucas looks over her car - after she tampered with it - she looks over the paperwork for the Parkers' service and notices that Steph has signed it. Despite Elle's insistence that he come clean about Steph's involvement, Lucas says he's not dobbing her in. When Lucas leaves, Elle looks at the Parkers' paperwork and comes to a decision about what to do with the information.

The teens return to school for the first time since Bridget's death and are touched to see their fellow students have set up a memorial to Bridget on her desk. Meanwhile, Zeke tells Sunny that no matter how much research she does into the condition that killed Bridget, it won't give her the answers she desires.

Rebecca is worried about Declan's growing anger and despite her reassurance that things will get easier, Declan comments that he doesn't want them to. Later, he ends up clashing with Zeke at school over his friendship with Steph. Declan demands Zeke choose - Steph or Bridget. But when Zeke refuses, Declan slams him against a wall. Zeke tells him to hit him if it will make him feel better, but what he really needs to do is let everyone in.

Later at number 26, Rebecca is shocked when Declan wishes he could just disappear. She reminds him that he has more to live for now and insists that things will get better. As an emotional Declan says he can't do it alone, Rebecca tells him they'll do it together.

Donna still hasn't been able to cry at Bridget's death and Sunny wonders whether Donna has to cry or if she's just mourning in her own way. With Declan struggling to cope, Donna decides to begin reading the bible if she's going to be a good Godmother to India. Later, the teens hold a candlelight service for Bridget and while Sunny sings in her native Korean, Donna finally lets down her guard and begins to mourn the loss of her friend.
