5840: Callum plays cupid

Steph tries to enthuse Lucas about his rehab but, frustrated by his dependence on others, Lucas plays up. Steph challenges him to stop being a self-pitying jerk. Though wondering why she’s making the effort, Lucas opens up about his fear, and improves his attitude.

Deeply grateful to Steph, he’s taken aback when Libby suggests Steph’s sacrifice stems from love. Lucas is initially surprised but tells Steph he loves her too. However, Steph’s guilt at betraying Libby with Dan, and precipitating events that led to Lucas’ accident, are major obstacles.

Can Steph deal with them?

Keen for his Dad to be happy in love, Callum’s on-board with Sonya’s ‘sleep-over’. But when Sonya arrives, Callum’s eagerness to make sure all goes well sees him overdoing the Cupid role.

Toadie apologises for making Sonya uncomfortable, but Sonya’s made of sterner stuff, and the night – and morning-after – go exceptionally well.
