6393: Lucas changes his attitude

Realising that he should have gone to the hospital with Vanessa, Lucas feels even more guilty when Rhys has a go at him for abandoning the mother of his child. Lucas finally reaches out to Vanessa, but when she realises that Rhys rebuked Lucas, she gives Rhys a serve for fighting her battles.

Vanessa then surprises Rhys by quickly forgiving him, which leaves him intrigued by the new woman in town. At the same time, Lucas continues to tentatively reach out to Vanessa, prompting a thaw between the reluctant parents.

Meanwhile, buoyed by having the house all to himself, Callum invites the girls over, unwittingly piquing Sophie's jealously by calling Rani first. Determined to remain the most important friend in the triangle, Sophie successfully drives a wedge between them, warning Rani against encouraging Callum's crush while urging Callum to make more of an effort with her. However, when Callum confronts Rani about her odd behaviour, they both realise they have been played.

Elsewhere, determined to embrace the positive side of not being pregnant, Sonya surprises Toadie with a night on the town. While enjoying living it up, they propose a family holiday to Europe, committing to life without a baby.
