Andrew realises that he has neglected Chris, the only friend who didn't ostracise him after the crash. But when Chris rejects his apology, angry at Andrew for not supporting him when he faced his criminal charges, Andrew is left on his own.

When Andrew starts experiencing disorientation and dizziness, he has no friends to turn to and tries to self-diagnose. He's unsuccessful, but when he experiences a blackout and is unable to account for several minutes of time, he's sure there is something very wrong with him. What is it?

Meanwhile, Paul's anger at Chris is tempered when he shows his sorrow at Sophie's bedside. When Sophie wakes and makes it clear that Chris tried to stop her travelling in the overloaded car, Kate begs Paul to forgive him. Paul considers calling off his lawsuit, but he later sees Chris appearing to be moving on while Sophie is left to deal with a painful rehabilitation. An angry Paul recommits to the lawsuit, determined to see Chris punished.

Elsewhere, dealing with Sophie's recovery makes Kate re-evaluate her priorities and acknowledge how disinterested she is in her job at Charlie's. Inspired by Aidan's pride in doing a job that makes a difference, Kate tells Priya that she wants to return to her teaching career.
