6480: Rhys gets angry with Vanessa

Convinced that he's getting nowhere with rehab, Rhys loses heart. Having committed to seeing him through the process, canny Vanessa gets him cooking as a way to keep challenging himself. While he is awake to her scheme, a charmed Rhys is happy to give it a go - until he gets over-confident and attempts a task that is far too ambitious.

Angry, Rhys lashes out at Vanessa, accusing her of trying to trick him into rehab. Hurt, she seeks solace in Lucas. Rhys heads for Charlie's, where Karl delivers a timely wake-up call - he can ill-afford to lose Vanessa's support at this critical time. Chastened, Rhys apologises to Vanessa and implores her not to give up on him.

Meanwhile, seeing he is still struggling with his feelings for Vanessa, Sonya suggests that Lucas should re-think the plan to live with her. Committed to the idea of living with his child, Lucas dismisses her, maintaining that he can control his attraction. However, when Vanessa reveals her fight with Rhys, Lucas can't help but entertain the idea that he might have a chance with her, and Sonya busts them in a revealing moment of closeness.

Lucas is brought back down to earth with a thud when Rhys arrives and apologises to Vanessa - it's clear this couple are still committed to each other. Feeling a fool, Lucas vows to concentrate on being a father, and simply toughing out the heartache.

Elsewhere, upon hearing that Kyle is going to be the godfather of Toadie and Sonya's baby, Lou nominates himself to do the job for Lucas. While he is thrown when Lucas rejects the idea, proud Lou swears that he'll find a way to turn him around.
