6498: Vanessa exposes Rhys's deception

Vanessa continues supporting Rhys through his rehab, under the proviso that he won't get involved in any surgeries until he is ready. However, when Jessica pulls him into an emergency situation, Rhys goes along with it and manages to pull it off. While Rhys is confident this is a sign his hand is improving, Vanessa is appalled by what he's done. Disgruntled that she can't see this as a good thing, Rhys agrees to participate in another of Jessica's surgical procedures - but resolves not to tell Vanessa about it.

In the end, a suspicious Vanessa busts Rhys moments before the surgery and urges him to pull out before he possibly makes a mistake he'll never live down. When Rhys refuses, a conflicted Vanessa decides to inform Jessica that Rhys isn't fully recovered. She's trying to protect him, but will he see it that way?

Meanwhile, when Rani doesn't notice the change in Callum's demeanour, he buys himself a pair of bold, expensive shoes. Seeing Rani is impressed by them, Callum figures he's on to a good thing and keeps up his bad boy act - including being deliberately evasive about how he managed to pay for them.

Elsewhere, thrown when Callum's new shoes impress Rani, Harley tries to earn more money by taking on extra work at the yard. However, when Kyle refuses to give him an advance, Harley spots an opportunity to steal from Sonya's nursery and takes it. Soon afterwards, Callum's plan brings on his own downfall when his parents assume that he took the money to impress Rani.
