Meanwhile, a shattered Vanessa finds support in Lucas, who works hard to seem like he is unaffected by the wedding not going ahead. However, when she finds Lucas's heartfelt, self-penned vows, Vanessa realises that he is genuinely in love with her. Too emotionally exhausted to confront this problem, Vanessa tries running from it instead. However, when Vanessa is reminded that she has no other options, she stays but distances herself from Lucas.
Elsewhere, Rani is hesitant when Harley suggests they should go to his mate's party in Frankston after the school social. Uncomfortable about lying to her parents, Rani declines his offer but when he is disappointed, she worries she has jeopardised her relationship.
