A relieved Toadie assumes they'll get to go home as a family at last, but he is thrown when he learns that Sonya has to stay in hospital, which means he and Callum will have to look after Nell on their own. Toadie and Callum struggle but help each other through it, again proving they're up to the task. Hoping the worst is behind them, Toadie presents Sonya with a beautiful engagement ring, celebrating the fact his family is finally safe, happy and together.
Meanwhile, despite her anger at Karl, Susan agrees not to confront him about coming onto her sister. Hopeful that she has kept Susan from discovering the truth, Carmel is relieved. However, when an awkward Karl avoids Carmel, Susan is frustrated with his rudeness and accuses him of overstepping the line. But she's thrown when Karl insists that Carmel is lying - she made a move on him. Who will Susan believe?
Elsewhere, faced with Sophie's anger at him for destroying Rani's family, Paul tries to buy her forgiveness, but she shuts him down. Expecting similar reactions from Kate and Andrew, Paul is buoyed when they choose not to judge him - and he is grateful when a sympathetic Kate urges Sophie to go easy on him.
