Tovey reveals reason behind 'H&A' exit

Home and Away actress Jess Tovey has revealed the reason behind her decision to quit the soap after three years.

In May, the 21-year-old announced that she had filmed her final scenes as Summer Bay favourite Belle Taylor.

Speaking to TV Week about her decision to quit the Australian soap, Tovey said: "I can't stress enough what a hard decision it was and that I nearly changed my mind a few times.

"I still feel sad about it, but I really just wanted a change. I loved being on Home and Away and I'll miss it forever, but I wanted to leave on a high."

When asked about a possible return to the series, she joked: "I don't know how they'd do it. A long lost twin maybe? We've joked about that, actually, because Amanda (Holly Brisley) was unconscious during the birth - so maybe there was another baby!"

Tovey's emotional final scenes as Belle will go to air on Tuesday, September 22.
