The 22-year-old actor announced his decision to quit the Sydney-based show last September after two years playing the role of Geoff Campbell.
Discussing moving back to his home city of Brisbane, Lewis told the Courier Mail: "About four hours after I got home, I hadn't even unpacked and mum got me straight into doing house chores. It's good to be home."
He added: "The beautiful thing about being in Queensland is everyone takes the time for things and I don't think that'll be changing any time soon."
Lewis, who was involved in a sex tape scandal last year, shot forthcoming movie Tomorrow: When The War Began after filming his final Summer Bay scenes. Ex-Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey (Rachel Kinski) is also in the film's cast.
