Former Home and Away star Jodi Gordon has admitted that she finds TV auditions daunting.

The actress is currently searching for new projects after filming her final scenes as Summer Bay's Martha MacKenzie.

Last month, it was revealed that the 25-year-old had failed to secure a part on crime drama Cops LAC after auditioning for the new show.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, Gordon confessed: "The whole audition process, oh my God, it is terrifying. I did it on Home and Away and I got the job and I know it is not that easy.

"Now it is like, 'Welcome to the real world, Jodi'. But each one is a great experience and the more I do, the better I will get."

The star confirmed that she has also been taking time to relax since bowing out from Home and Away, describing it as a "transition period" in her life.

She said: "I have gone from working on this machine, where it is non-stop, and now it is the complete opposite of that."
