'H&A' actor "surprised" by Logie triumph

Home and Away star Luke Mitchell has said that he was shocked by his success at the Logie Awards.

The actor, who plays Summer Bay's Romeo Smith, received the 'Most Popular New Male Talent' prize at Sunday night's ceremony.

Speaking on The Morning Show, Mitchell admitted that he was "very surprised to win".

Asked what he will do with the gong, he replied: "I don't know, I don't think it's left my hands much, I haven't thought that far yet!"

The 25-year-old, who is dating co-star Rebecca Breeds, joined the Home and Away cast last year and was first seen on screen in September.

He added: "For me, life can't get much better at this point of time, I'm very lucky. The people around me are just lovely."
