The 18-year-old recently signed up to reprise her part as Indigo Walker, who she played briefly on the Summer Bay soap last year.
Home and Away is the star's second major TV project as she previously portrayed Kirsten Mulroney on the BBC-commissioned show Out of the Blue, which was also based in Sydney.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about her latest commitment, Weaving commented: "It's a bit easier this time around as I don't have to fit in work and my studies on top of that.
"Everyone has been so welcoming and it's a great place to work - except when you have to wear a bikini on Palm Beach in the middle of winter!"
Meanwhile, revealing why she took up acting, she said: "I was a really shy kid. My parents were worried that I wasn't making friends at school and so they enrolled me in a drama class, and I just loved it after that."
Indigo will be back on screen along with the rest of the Walker family within the next few weeks.
