'Home & Away' lovers had romance doubts

Home and Away actress Rebecca Breeds has admitted that her romance with co-star Luke Mitchell took "a long time" to get off the ground.

The pair, who play Summer Bay's Ruby Buckton and Romeo Smith, confirmed their real-life relationship in April after two months together.

However, speaking to Seventeen magazine, Breeds confessed that they were both initially unsure about whether dating a colleague was a good idea.

She explained: "It's tricky dating at work. It took us a long time to decide whether we were going to because we work together. We really love our jobs and we want to do the best we can there."

Meanwhile, asked to name the most romantic thing Mitchell has done for her, Breeds replied: "It's just the little day-to-day things. Little things that just pop up, like messages or little dates or stuff like that. We had his birthday recently and we had a really good time. We went for a surf in the morning, which was fun. Yeah, just doing adventurous things like that."

The couple recently confessed that they often have tiffs, with Mitchell admitting that they "fall out about anything and everything".
