Meagher: 'H&A Alf, Marilyn just friends'

Home and Away star Ray Meagher has insisted that his alter ego will not embark on another relationship.

Speaking to Inside Soap, the 66-year-old, who is the only original actor on the serial, admitted that he cannot envisage Marilyn Chambers falling for Alf Stewart.

He said: "I think they're wonderful friends more than anything - they care very much for one another and there's a lot of respect there, but I can't see them being paired up.

"I think Marilyn's had her older man already with her ex-husband Don Fisher. Emily Symons is a wonderful girl, though, and I really love working with her."
