Home and Away's series producer Cameron Welsh has predicted that the soap's recent recruit Samara Weaving is destined for "big" things in the acting industry.

Weaving first played Summer Bay's Indigo Walker for a brief stint last year, and she has since been brought back as a regular cast member along with the rest of her screen family.

Following her comeback, many of Indigo's storylines have revolved around her blossoming romance with Romeo Smith, played by Luke Mitchell.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about the 18-year-old star, Welsh commented: "Sam's genuinely laid-back and funny and all that comes through on screen. Hopefully she'll stick around for a while, but really the sky's the limit for her.

"Obviously she's a rare mix of humility, extraordinary talent and great looks. They don't come along that often. When they have all those things in bucket loads, you know they're special and destined for something big."

Prior to her Home and Away role, Weaving played the part of Kirsten Mulroney on the BBC's Sydney-based soap Out of the Blue.
