The actress - who has played Charlie Buckton since 2008 - admitted that the policewoman will not experience plain sailing in her love life over the coming months.
Speaking to TV Week, Anderson explained: "There could be trouble ahead in Charlie and Angelo's relationship. They've had their fair share of hurdles - and there are more to come."
Anderson revealed that fans can also expect Charlie to face difficulties in other areas of her life.
She said: "There are problems with her daughter Ruby, too - and on top of that, she has her work cut out for her at the police station."
Home and Away is now back on air in the UK following the Christmas break and also returns to Australian screens next week.
