Home and Away actress Rebecca Breeds has revealed that she hopes to launch a Hollywood career in the future.

The 23-year-old - who plays Summer Bay's Ruby Buckton - admitted that securing work in the US is one of her biggest ambitions.

Speaking to Adelaide Now, Breeds explained: "Certainly, that's always the plan. Absolutely I want LA. I am always thinking about it, but every role is a step towards the ultimate goal.

"I make sure that every step is satisfying in itself, which is why I love what I'm doing with Home and Away. But if you don't have an end goal, a desire to go further, I think it's easy to get comfortable and caught in your comfort zone."

Breeds recently completed a training course in Melbourne with Hollywood acting coach Ivana Chubbuck, who has previously worked with Charlize Theron, Halle Berry and Brad Pitt among others.

Discussing the experience, Breeds said: "I learned so much. The material I've got I'll be able to practise and practise for the next year. Now I have all the material I need, and I'm excited to go and put it into practice.

"What people came with and what they left with - it was just 100% improvement. Those little pearls of wisdom just made such a difference."
