Home and Away star Lisa Gormley has praised the soap's New Year time jump, admitting that the twist was an enjoyable challenge.

Fans in the UK are about to see the action in Summer Bay skip ahead by six weeks, reflecting the period of time that the show was off air in Australia for its annual Christmas break.

In the time that has passed, several things seem to have changed for the Bay's residents as Gormley's character Bianca Scott is living in bliss with Liam Murphy (Axle Whitehead), while Charlie's father Ross Buckton has passed away.

Speaking to Inside Soap about the time leap, Gormley commented: "Even though it was a challenge to keep up with the scripts, it was refreshing as well. It was like having a cold shower and starting all over again."

Meanwhile, discussing her alter ego's love life, she explained: "When we see Liam and Bianca again, they've just returned from a holiday in Europe. Things are great between them. It really feels like a fresh start and Bianca knows she's made the right decision choosing to be with him."

Bianca's new beginning with Liam comes after she makes a life-changing decision on the day of her wedding to Prince Vittorio later this week.
