Home and Away star Rebecca Breeds has hinted that she would not want a long-term romance storyline with her real-life boyfriend Luke Mitchell.

The pair's soap characters Ruby Buckton and Romeo Smith are about to feature in a love triangle plot, which has been tipped to divide fans in the weeks ahead.

Summer Bay's latest scandal kicks off when Ruby decides that Romeo is the man for her and kisses him, despite his relationship with Indigo Walker (Samara Weaving).

Discussing the kiss scene, Breeds told TV Week: "It was fine and the easiest day of work I've done! When you are working with someone who you naturally have a really strong chemistry with, it takes out half the work. You don't have to work on the chemistry, you just get to do the fun stuff."

However, on the pressures of filming intimate scenes with her real-life partner, she confessed: "I probably wouldn't want to do it too much longer, because then it's mixing business and pleasure and it is nice to have our own lives."

Breeds also promised that fans can expect plenty of drama between Ruby, Romeo and Indi as events come to a head.

She said: "It's not going to be very pretty at all. They definitely have to confront each other about everything."
