Lynne McGranger has revealed that she would love for Kimberley Cooper, who plays Gypsy Nash, to return to Home and Away.

McGranger, who has played Irene Roberts for 18 years on the soap, also said that she is happy to be working with Zac Drayson (Will Smith) again.

The plot sees Irene torn between Will and her close friend Alf, who is accused of murder.

When asked what it's like to be working with Drayson again, the actress replied to Holy Soap: "Fantastic. I love him to pieces. Zac has always been a natural, and I hope to see him getting a lot more roles."

The 58-year-old said that she would love for Gypsy to make another appearance in the TV show.

She added: "I would love to see Gypsy come back. Kimberley Cooper was always a favourite. I also think Charlie-Rose, who played Lily, was very talented and like a young Kate Ritchie, so I would love her to come back."

Quizzed on what the future holds for Irene, she replied: "I can't give any secrets away, but Irene will continue in her role as a helper/mother figure/advisor to the Bay’s residents and their problems. I can also hint that down the track Irene is going to be facing some problems of her own."
