'H&A' star reveals Meagher near-miss

Home and Away's new recruit Steve Peacocke has admitted that he nearly had a car collision with co-star Ray Meagher on his first day at the show.

The actor - who plays bad boy Darryl Braxton on the Summer Bay drama - told Holy Soap that he felt embarrassed following the near-miss.

Peacocke explained: "The first day of work I was running late and swung my car into a car park at Palm Beach and narrowly missed the next car. When I got out I saw it was Ray Meagher's car and he was sitting in it!

"He looked like a man that didn't want to be disturbed at five in the morning, well that's my excuse anyway, and so I raced up to wardrobe thinking that's not the best way to get introduced to a legend like Ray."

Meagher's character Alf Stewart is currently off screen as he is taking a break from the programme to star in the West End.

Meanwhile, Darryl has recently made his debut on screen and has been tipped to be at the centre of drama in the Bay in the months ahead.
