'Home and Away' Esther Anderson: 'Stakes get higher for Charlie'

Home and Away star Esther Anderson has promised that there are more "twists" ahead for her character Charlie Buckton as her forbidden romance storyline continues.

Charlie has been caught between her career and her love life in recent months after embarking on an on-off relationship with local bad boy Brax, played by Steve Peacocke.

The policewoman will soon be held hostage by one of Brax's enemies as the plot continues, but Anderson told TV Week that there are more unexpected developments on the way even beyond that.

"From the very get-go, she's been in too deep and despite all the warning signs and despite his background, her feelings for Brax have become stronger and stronger," Anderson explained.

"She wants to be with him, but she has her job and daughter to consider. All the way along, it's been a big risk but the stakes are getting higher. There are some more interesting twists to come."

Reports suggest that Charlie will soon find herself suspended from the police force, leaving the future of her job hanging in the balance.
