The River Boy will meet up with the jailed Braxton patriarch in the coming weeks following the discovery that girlfriend Bianca is expecting his baby.
Dan Ewing told TV Week: "After it's confirmed he's the father of Bianca's baby, he realises he has a lot of questions about his own father and why he left them.
"I think deep down he wants to make peace with him because he feels he'll be a better father if he does that.
"Heath definitely resents his father, mainly because he idolised him so much when he was a young teenager. So it's pretty icy and there's a lot of pent-up anguish and emotion.
"Danny (Andy McPhee) regrets a lot of the stuff he did in the past, and he lets Heath know that he wishes he didn't throw his family away."
Ewing added: "But there's so much water under the bridge that it won't be a one-visit fix."
