There have been rumours that the pair have been fostering a romance for a while, but they have remained tight-lipped about their relationship until now.
However, Whitehead, who plays Liam Murphy on the show, confirmed to the Australian Sunday Telegraph that the two were dating, stating: "It's only new but it's going really well."
The 31-year-old singer also told the paper that he believes Hollywood will eventually go after Weaving, who plays tortured teenager Indigo Walker on the soap.
He spoke of his belief that she will follow in the footsteps of previous Home and Away stars Heath Ledger, Chris Hemsworth and Naomi Watts.
Home and Away boss Cameron Walsh recently echoed Whitehead's statements, saying that Weaving is destined for "big things" in the industry.
Whitehead previously dated another Home and Away co-star in 2010, when he was in a brief relationship with Lisa Gormley. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
