Home and Away star Lincoln Younes has admitted that his character Casey Braxton is "speechless" when he learns that he may become a father.
A new storyline on the Summer Bay soap sees Sasha Bezmel (Demi Harman) realise she may be pregnant following a night of passion with Casey.
Although Sasha is initially reluctant to share her fears with Casey, she eventually comes clean by informing him that she might be expecting his baby.
Younes told TV Week of Casey's reaction: "As most 18-year-olds would be, he's quite shocked. When Sasha drops the news, he's speechless.
"Sasha takes that the wrong way and thinks he doesn't want to have any part of it, but he's really just coming to terms with it - he thought babies and parenting were at least a decade off."
Viewers will see Romeo Smith (Luke Mitchell) step in to give Casey some wise advice as he struggles to digest the news.
Younes continued: "Coming off his troubles with Indi and, of course, the baby scare with Ruby, Romeo pushes that Casey needs to be the man and be mature and grown-up, and deal with whatever repercussions come of what he did.
"That hits home with Casey. He accepts it and does what he thinks is morally right."
When Casey finally vows to support Sasha, she agrees to take a pregnancy test to determine whether her baby suspicions are actually correct.
Whatever the outcome, however, Sasha's father Sid (Robert Mammone) is not pleased when he discovers that she and Casey have decided to become a proper couple.
Younes said: "Sid's obviously adverse to it after all the mistreatment that's gone on between Sasha and Casey. I don't know what Casey's chances are of winning Sid over."
