4869: Hugo returns to the Bay

Hugo arrives back in Summer Bay to a less than warm reception from Xavier and Martha. Apologising for his disappearance and the way he left things with Martha, Hugo says that he just needed time to think and that he'll get past his feelings for her.

Later, Martha admits to Rachel that it may be too difficult for her to live with Hugo from now on, especially as she thinks she has feelings for him. Martha decides she needs to make a decision about her feelings for Hugo and their living arrangements - there's no way she can live with him if she has feelings for him. After some serious soul searching, Martha admits to Hugo that she can't live with him any longer and is moving out to the farm house.

Aden's concerns for Belle intensify, especially as she's been missing her Narcotics Anonymous meetings, and he confides in Rachel his fears that he may have ruined their friendship. After visiting Irene, where she was encouraged to reunite with Aden, Belle returns home to find Claudia's sleeping pills. Turning to Aden for support, Belle tells him to take the pills away from her because she was tempted to take them. Expecting Aden to hate her, Belle is surprised when Aden instead praises her for her courage and strength.

Determined to prove Irene's innocence, Angelo continues with his mission of searching Lou's boat for some sort of clue. Frustrated, he kicks the railings of the boat and discovers some dried blood. When the test results reveal that Irene was telling the truth, Angelo is pleased to report that the prosecution has decided to drop the murder charges against her.

Delighted at the news about Irene, Belle and Aden fall back into each other's arms. After spending the night together Aden tells Belle that he never stopped loving her and they're soon reunited.
