Following Gardy's earlier threats against him and his family, Miles agonises over whether to tell the police about the threats or not. While his instincts tell him to go straight to the police, Gardy's warnings are too great for Miles to simply ignore. Over dinner in the Diner, Miles tells the family to steer well clear of Gardy. Refusing to live in fear, Kirsty tells Miles that if Gardy is as dangerous as he says he is then they have to go to the police. Miles refuses, explaining that he's spoken to Roman and agreed to do things Roman's way. Then, right on cue, Miles receives Roman's text message and calls the police to tip them off about the robbery.
As Gardy gives the order to attack the warehouse, the night's silence is broken by the sound of sirens as the police arrive and the raid is immediately called off.
The next morning, Miles tells Roman that the only way this whole nightmare of a situation is going to end is when Gardy is behind bars. Remaining defiant, Roman maintains that he can deal with Gardy, but Miles is hearing none of it and gives Roman a deadline - he has just one day to get rid of Gardy or Miles is going to the police. Suddenly, Roman is struck with a sickening feeling when he realises he's left his mobile phone at home with Gardy and the incriminating text message he sent to Miles is still in his 'Sent' box. Roman makes a mercy dash home but it's too late - Nicole is ringing Roman's phone, which alerts Gardy to its whereabouts and it isn't long before he discovers the text message Roman sent to Miles. As Roman arrives home, a furious Gardy lashes out and knocks him unconscious.
Nicole, having been packed off to live with Ruby, Charlie and Leah while Roman deals with Gardy, is struggling to feel at home. When VJ destroys one of her assignments by accidentally knocking over some orange juice in the Diner, it's the last straw for Nicole, who decides to have it out with her father. Gardy needs to be driven out of their lives and the Bay once and for all. With Trey's support, Nicole returns home to confront Roman but finds the house empty. Seizing the opportunity, Nicole and Trey head upstairs to bed.
Bumping into Jai in the Diner, Gardy hands him a smashed mobile phone and asks him to pass it to Miles. Complying with Gardy's request, Jai hands it to Miles, who immediately realises it is Roman's. Fearing for Roman's life, Miles heads for the police station and tells Charlie all about Gardy forcing Roman into committing the robberies and threatening both of their families. The police quickly arrange protection for Miles, Kirsty and the kids as well as for a patrol car to pick up Nicole from the school.
Later, Roman wakes after being knocked unconscious only to find that Gardy has dragged him back to the warehouse. Querying why they're back there, Roman is horrified when Gardy explains that he and Roman are going to finish the job they started - committing the warehouse robbery but this time in broad daylight. However, Roman is left numb and speechless when Gardy delivers one last terrifying threat - if Roman refuses, Gardy has a shotgun cartridge with Nicole's name on it.
