4877: Angelo's life hangs in the balance

Following their cliff top scuffle, Tony holds Angelo's life in his hands. As Angelo pleads with Tony, insisting that he too suffers every day after what happened with Jack, Martha and Charlie come running up and Martha screams for Tony to stop. Hesitating, Tony ponders Martha's plea but there's suddenly a loud crack as the cliff crumbles beneath them. Instinctively grabbing hold of Angelo's hand, Tony looks down at Angelo as he's left dangling over the edge of the cliff. Despite Charlie and Martha's insistence that Angelo reach up and take Tony's other hand, he hesitates, allowing Tony the opportunity to release his grip and drop Angelo to his death. The two men stare into each other's eyes for a moment before Tony insists Angelo take his hand. Hugo and Alf soon arrive and Angelo is pulled to safety.

Meanwhile, Rachel is still in hospital and being attended to by the obstetrician. Rachel's concerns for her unborn baby intensify when the obstetrician informs her that she's having contractions and the baby may have to be delivered sooner rather than later. When Tony finally arrives at her side, Rachel is relieved to hear the baby's heart rate is returning to normal and the contractions have settled.

Later, Rachel demands an explanation from Tony about his whereabouts earlier. While Tony explains what happened, Rachel is left doubting her husband and just what he's capable of.

Following his altercation with Angelo, Tony prepares to head to the police station and accept the consequences for his actions but Charlie informs him there's no need - Angelo is refusing to give a statement. Without Angelo's statement, Tony is in the clear. A free man, Tony heads to Jack's grave where he pleads for his son's forgiveness.

After a trying day, Hugo and Martha find themselves alone. When Martha admits that she doesn't want to be alone tonight, Hugo takes this as a sign Martha wants to be with him. With his eyes locked on her's, Hugo leans in and kisses Martha. Unable to resist Hugo's charms any longer, Martha gives in to temptation and kisses Hugo back.
