4885: Tony gives Hugo and Martha his blessing
After nearly kissing and being caught by Tony, Hugo and Martha try to explain the situation but Tony isn't prepared to listen and storms off. Rachel admits to Tony that Hugo and Martha do have feelings for each other and have been fighting their attraction. The next day, Tony confides in Alf about Martha and Hugo's situation and Alf reminds him that the most important thing is that they're happy. Taking Alf's advice on board, Tony later talks things over with Martha and Hugo and ultimately gives their relationship his blessing. Delighted, Hugo finally sees this as the green light for he and Martha to pursue their feelings but Martha isn't so sure - she doesn't feel right about starting a new relationship so soon after Jack's death.

Ruby admits to Charlie that she and Xavier are planning to have sex on her birthday. Charlie does her best to talk Ruby out of it but her mind is made up. Later, Charlie seeks Hugo's support in the situation and asks him to talk to Xavier, but Hugo refuses and says that as long as they're safe and responsible he doesn't have a problem with it. Discovering that Charlie went to Hugo, Ruby once again has words with her sister. While Xavier assures Hugo and Ruby that he will take precautions, Charlie buys Ruby a dress for her birthday as way of making peace. While accepting the gift, Ruby maintains that she and Xavier will still be spending the night together no matter what Charlie says.

Still struggling to find work after Lou's fishing trawler was sunk, Aden worries about how he's going to pay for Belle's engagement ring. Clint visits Aden again and offers him the money he needs in return for some insider information on the football team. Although Aden refuses, Clint tells him to give him a call if he changes his mind.

Later, Belle overhears Aden talking to Alf about living with her and is less than pleased with Aden's attitude. Aden tells Belle that he was just being blokey with Alf and reassures her he loves her more than ever. Later, Aden makes a deal with the devil and agrees to take the money from Clint in order to pay for Belle's ring.
