4894: Claudia leaves the Bay

Having witnessed Lachie's attack on Claudia, Geoff intervenes himself and ends up in an argument with Lachie. When Rachel steps in to break things up she tells Lachie that he needs to keep his emotions in check or he won't be allowed to have any visitors. The next day, Lachie is able to move his toes and Rachel informs him that once the swelling around his spinal cord goes down there's no reason he won't make a full recovery. Delighted by the news, Lachie adopts a more positive outlook and starts making plans with Claudia about their future.

Meanwhile, Geoff is concerned for Claudia and the baby and convinces Irene to let Claudia stay with them for as long as she wants. However, Claudia isn't willing to accept Geoff's generous offer and tells him she can stand up for herself. Claudia visits Lachie and tells him that they're not together and he needs to stop dumping all his emotional baggage on her. Later, Geoff arrives home to find Claudia's bags packed. It's then Claudia who reveals that she's leaving the Bay and moving in with some relatives. The ex's share a sweet goodbye before Claudia walks out of Summer Bay and Geoff's life forever.

While Belle continues to hide her condition from those close to her, Aden continues to have problems with loan shark Clint who requests a meeting on the beach. When Clint tells Aden that he needs to throw another rugby match, Aden refuses and says Clint can keep the ring. Angered, Clint tells Aden that he'll throw the game or else. A desperate Aden asks Geoff to help him throw the match but Geoff refuses and tells Aden that he'll do everything he can to stop him.

Later at the rugby game, Aden is left with little option but to throw Geoff a bad pass which results in him leaving the field with a bloodied nose. However, in the dying minutes, Geoff returns to the field and scores the winning try. A disappointed Clint issues Aden a chilling threat - take out Geoff before the next game or Clint will take out Aden.

With Trey retreating further and further into himself, John tries to persuade Bartlett and Miles to allow Trey to go on the class trek, but the two men aren't so sure. Overhearing John's proposal, Annie and Ruby start a position to stop Trey from attending the hike. The next day, John is angered when Trey fails to show up at the Surf Club to discuss joining the surf life-saving group with Alf. Berating Trey in the Diner, John angrily drags his step-son out of there, once again humiliating him. Watching how badly John treats Trey, Nicole can't help but feel sorry for her ex.
