4911: Belle reveals to Irene she's dying

Wanting to go to the city to see Roman, an inebriated Nicole flags down a passing car and then drives off with the stranger. When the driver begins to go in the opposite direction to the city, Nicole begins to panic and demands to be let out of the car. The driver obliges and as Nicole stumbles from the vehicle the driver, who it turns out is Sid, tells her she's in no fit state to be left alone. A clearly lost and heartbroken Nicole tells him that she has nothing - no father or home. Sid tells Nicole that as a father himself, he knows Roman wouldn't want Nicole to be left alone at night on a deserted road. He takes her back to the caravan park where a worried Kirsty, Miles, Geoff and Jai are relieved to see that Nicole is safe.

Sid tracks down Indigo and Dexter after the party but receives a hostile reception from his daughter. When Sid begins to lecture his children on honesty, Indigo snaps back at her father that he cheats on their mother yet he's the one who is lecturing them on honesty.

The next day, a concerned Geoff talks tries to ascertain what it is that's making Nicole so miserable. Nicole tells him that her life is going down the drain and that she got drunk because, for just one night, she wanted to forget everything and not think about how miserable her life is.

In the Diner, Leah, Kirsty and Colleen are talking about the Walker family and how Sid has no idea how to parent teenagers. Colleen blames the lack of discipline nowadays and vows to give Sid a piece of her mind. However, when Colleen is introduced to Sid, she is immediately charmed by his looks and the fact he's a doctor, and instead of giving him an earful, warmly welcomes him to the Bay and offers to be his tour guide if he ever needs one.

Belle and Aden return to Summer Bay early after a booking mix-up at the resort they were staying at for their honeymoon. Belle decides that it is time for her to tell Irene, Geoff and Annie about her illness and despite Aden's concerns that it might be too much for her now, Belle insists they need to know as they are like family to her. Later, Irene, Geoff and Annie visit the newlyweds and Belle tells them that she is sick. When Annie asks if Belle's going to have an operation to remove the tumour in her bowel, Aden reveals that Belle only has a few months left to live. Irene is shellshocked at Belle's news and appears to shutdown, giving Belle the cold shoulder, while Annie breaks down in tears on the beach and is comforted by Dexter.

Later at the Diner, Aden talks to Irene about Belle's condition and she refuses to spend time with Belle. Following a mishap, Irene snaps at Colleen and storms into the kitchen. When Leah, Colleen, Miles and Kirsty check on her, a devastated Irene reveals that there's something she needs to tell them. Later that evening, Irene arrives at Aden and Belle's and, telling Belle she's so sorry, breaks down in tears.

On the pier, Geoff talks to Nicole about Belle and tells her that they're going to get through this. They share a kiss but Geoff tells Nicole it's not the answer. An upset Nicole snaps at Geoff to leave her alone and as Geoff walks away, Nicole receives a text message inviting her to another party.
