3737: Jade makes a decision

Jade has decided to look after Seb fulltime. Rhys is distraught but doesn’t know what he can do after all the mistakes he’s made in the past. Beth simply tells him to support her in whatever she decides. Kit tells she’s making a foolish decision dropping out of school because unlike her alcoholism, Seb’s condition is not recoverable. This will be forever. Jade refuses to concede. She’s going.
Seb decides he wants to leave Summer Bay and head to Brisbane to live with Don Fisher. There’s shock and disappointment from everyone in Summer Bay. Fisher gets down to arranging it.
Meanwhile Seb deals Jade’s plans a severe blow. He says he doesn’t love her and he doesn’t ever want to see her again!
Jade has a simple solution for this. She ignores him. She’s still going to look after him. Kirsty thinks Seb’s doing the same thing as Kane did, rejecting her for her own good. Seb denies this.
Alf wants to mend fences between him and Duncan but for Duncan, the rift is as big as ever. He doesn’t want it any other way. Then Jade comes in and attacks Duncan for ruining Seb’s life. But Duncan says Seb’s the only one to blame for his predicament. Duncan didn’t force him to jump on the bonnet. Jade runs out in tears and Alf once again can’t believe that Duncan is showing no remorse. Father and son go head to head again. Duncan tries to run away again but Alf catches him. Not this time. Alf is going to make him the man he should be. Beginning with him facing up to what he’s done to Seb. It’s going to be a long fight.
Jade gets advice from everyone regarding her decision as Seb’s move draws closer. Beth asks her if she’s strong enough to let Seb go. Jade shouldn’t focus on her own guilt, only on what’s best for Seb. Fisher tells her the best thing she can do is go back to school and make the most of her life.
Fisher urges Seb to think some more about what he’s giving up by moving away from Summer Bay. Seb says he refuses to be a burden on people he cares about – especially Jade. Seb will leave in a day. He is set. But his face betrays his regret. As he remembers all the good times and friends he’s shared in Summer Bay, the reality of his future seeps over him. A tear makes its way down his cheek. He’s all alone.
