The following day, as Rachel hands out leaflets in a desperate attempt to locate her son, she's confused when a woman named Megan tells her that they can sort out the finer details regarding the cottage rental at a later time. Questioning Megan further, Rachel is stunned when she says that Rachel rented the cottage from her. Realising that Jane has used her identity, Rachel rushes to the cottage just as the police arrive. Jane comes out of the cottage with baby Harry in her arms and Charlie successfully talks her in to handing Harry back to Rachel.
At the police station, Hugo visits Angelo and tells him that he fears Aden is unwittingly mixed up in Gibbsy's abalone scam. Despite Angelo feeling sympathetic to Aden following Belle's death, he tells Hugo that if Aden is involved in Gibbsy's illegal abalone operation, then there is no way he'll be able to protect him. Later, with the trawler back at the wharf, Hugo pays Aden a visit and tells him that the police are on their way and urges Aden to leave with him. As the sound of police sirens fills the air, Aden and Hugo run off while Gibbsy is left scrambling to get away before the police arrive.
The next day, Aden and Hugo are summonsed to the police station by Angelo who reveals that they caught Gibbsy with a boat full of abalone, but Aden was nowhere to be seen. He questions whether Hugo went there to protect Aden or tip off Gibbsy, but Hugo and Aden rubbish his claims and leave.
Later, Indigo is concerned for Aden as he begins down a path of self-destruction. She tries to talk to Aden about what he's going through and when Aden leans across her lap, Nicole walks in and immediately gets the wrong idea. Throwing Indigo out, Nicole talks to Aden about what happened on the fishing trawler but he's too drunk and storms off upstairs, demanding to be left alone.
