4964: Miles is concerned about Jai

Jai seems to have been in a bad mood for weeks and Miles is beginning to get concerned about him. Thinking that perhaps he's had a blue with Romeo or Annie, Miles checks with Romeo who simply thinks Jai's simply being an angst ridden teenager.

Miles believes it must be more than that, but every attempt he makes to get Jai to open up, is met by a stone wall. Jai has another decision to make and is equally as flaky in dealing with that. Annie and Jai were at the top of a shortlist for candidates who had earlier missed out on the student exchange programme to Japan.

Now that the successful candidate had pulled out, Annie and Jai need to write an essay to see which one of them gets the placement. Jai wants to go and then doesn't, then changes his mind again and sticks up his hand when Annie surprisingly pulls out of the contest.

Miles doesn't know what to think, and then when Jai gets a phone call telling him to pack his bags for the trip, Miles still isn't sure if he really wants to go or not.

The sexual tension between Annie and Romeo has been growing and Romeo, having been told by Jai that he's no longer interested in Annie, isn't prepared to fight it any longer. He's told Annie he's going to romance the socks off her and they've started to go out.

While Romeo is enjoying his time with Annie, he feels guilty for not having told Jai about the fledgling relationship. He decides he has to come clean, but Jai thwarts his every endeavour to do so. It seems Jai's bad moods extend to his relationship with Romeo too. Eventually Romeo confronts Jai. They're brothers – surely they can chat about anything.

Jai then gives it to him and Romeo realises that the persistent bad moods are because he and Annie have been growing closer. Romeo comes clean and tells Jai about Annie, but assures him that he didn't make a move on Annie until Jai said he was no longer interested in her, but Jai debunks that. And it seems Romeo has a decision to make, because it doesn't look like he can keep his friendship with Jai and his new relationship.

Tony, worried about Rachel's post natal depression, isn't keen on her decision to go back to work part-time, but, wanting to support her, he eventually agrees to it. He's hoping for a quiet father-son bonding day when Rachel's first day back at work dawns. But Tony's plans are quickly thrown awry when his replacement at the gym calls in sick.

The day goes from bad to worse when Baby Harry sleeps for only short periods, and difficult customers and a pushy delivery man all give Tony the run around. He tries to hide his annoyance when Rachel calls to say that she needs to stay back late at work.

But by the time Rachel gets home, having enjoyed her return to work, Tony is too tired to even stay up and chat. He hides his exhaustion from Rachel, but it seems clear that he isn't going to be able to keep to this new regime for long.
