3830: Dan tries to reveal all to Leah

Both Kane and Kirsty are troubled, but for different reasons. Unaware of Kane’s cancer scare, Kirsty fears that her studies are coming between her and Kane. He’s been very distant. When Kirsty tries to get intimate, Kane rejects her - sex is the last thing on his mind. He uses a lame excuse about having the flu. Kirsty feels confused and shut out.
Dan corners Leah and makes a bumbling attempt to tell her his secret. Alf, in fine form, interrupts just at the crucial moment. He is still determined to find the mongrel who wrecked the kiosk – and he thinks one of Beth’s kids is involved.
Flynn has arranged an ultrasound test for Kane tomorrow. Kane is thrown by the news – why more tests? Flynn tries to calm him, but Kane’s attitude is that with his luck it’s bound to be cancer. He convinces Flynn to cover with Kirsty by telling her he is sick with some kind of bug. The lie works, and Kirsty’s suspicions disappear.
In need of comfort, Kane turns to Colleen. She’s faced cancer before. The two bond over their common tragedy and their past differences seem to vanish. She points out that Leah might also be able to help him, since her Vinnie went through the same thing.
Dan finally manages to drop his bombshell on Leah – he’s married and has a 6 year old kid! His wife and child have been in LA for the last 2 years. His wife, Amanda, has been trying to make it big as an actress. They recently decided to give up on the long distance relationship but they haven’t gotten around to getting a divorce just yet. Leah is surprised, but fine with the news. After all, her life is equally complicated. She has a son Dan hasn’t met yet and a dead husband who might be back from the grave.
Later Leah finds out from Kim that Amanda is a total babe. That’s the last thing Leah wanted to hear!
Flynn asks Sally if there any real hope of Kirsty passing her exams. If not, he thinks she would be better occupied looking after her husband. Sally thinks Kirsty has a slim chance and can’t imagine a situation that would justify Kirsty giving up on her exams. Flynn can’t tell Sally what’s wrong with Kane, but makes it clear that it could be very serious.
A huge arrangement of flowers arrives for Kirsty. The card says they’re from Kane, but he didn’t send them. He’s confused – who are they really from?
